  • Springmier Community Library Lego Club

    Date:  September 15, 2018
    Where:  CCA Middle School/Springmier Community Library

    Inviting all kids, grades kindergarten through fifth, to join us at the Springmier Community Library for our first Lego Mindstorm program. From 10:00am to 11:00am, kids can build, create, and explore using legos provided by the library. There will be a light snack provided to participants.

    Courage League Sports offers adapted sports and recreation programming for kids who cannot go full speed due to a physical, cognitive or emotional disability. By adapting the pace, equipment or nature of an activity, Courage League Sports can provide a safe and accessible environment where participants can go at their own speed. EveryBODY deserves to play!! 

    Courage League Sports has been operating at their flagship facility in Urbandale for five years. We are thrilled to welcome CLS to the Corridor, with five sessions scheduled this school year! Programming is limited and geared towards ages 5-15ish.   • One Book Two Book Accepting Writing Submissions

    Date Due:  November 30, 2018

    Students grades 1-8 are encouraged to submit one page of writing for the 2019 One Book Two Book Children's Literature Festival. 
    This can be any type of writing: Story, essay, poem, song lyric, graphic novel page, etc.
    The student work will be judged by a team from ACT in Iowa City. Recognized students will be honored at a one book two book, February 22-24, 2019.

  • Johnson County STEM Festival

    Date:  October 10, 2018
    Where: Kirkwood Regional Center at the University of Iowa, 2301 Oakdale Blvd, Coralville, IA 

    The Johson County STEM Festival will be held October 10, 2018 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at the Kirkwood Regional Center at the University of Iowa. The goal of the festival is to nurture interests of children and families in the exciting fields of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). 

    Organized like a street festival or county fair, visitors stroll from activity to activity at their leisure. This awe-inspiring day will feature compelling, educational and entertaining activities, performances and exhibits to boost children’s interest in STEM. Activities will be developed and presented by STEM experts from business, higher education, community organizations and informal education venues.

  • Warm Clothing and Winter Outerwear Distribution

    Date: October 13, 2018
    Time:  9:00 AM - 12:00 Noon

    It is time to prepare for the annual distribution of outerwear and warm clothing for the people of Johnson County.    This annual event is sponsored by the Consultation of Religious Communities with the support of KCRG “Coats for Kids” and many faith communities in Iowa City, Coralville, and North Liberty.

    The Consultation of Religious Communities is an interfaith council composed of more than thirty religious communities and related agencies of Johnson County.  We sponsor events and service activities with and for the community, and work to foster appreciation and understanding on matters of religious and cultural diversity.  
    This is a free distribution of warm clothing from pre-school (including infants) through high school ages, along with coats, hats, gloves, scarves, boots and other winter clothing for all ages.
    Volunteers are welcome to help with preparations on Thursday and Friday, and with the clothing distribution on Saturday.

  • Harlem Wizards vs the CCA All Stars

    The world-famous Harlem Wizards will visitThe Clear Creek Amana High School onThursday, October 11, 2018for an evening of great fun and fundraising. The Wizards will play a game against theCCA All Stars team consisting of CCA administrators and teachers. Proceeds will benefit all CCA Schools. More details on the CCA All Stars team roster coming soon.

    The event will feature a variety of fun interactive extras to complement the Wizards' dazzling demonstration of hoops artistry: Pregame "Wiz Kids" warm-up, contests, comedy, awesome slam dunks, audience participation, merchandise giveaways, and more. The game will conclude with the Wizards' signature dance extravaganza that will have the crowd on their feet!

  • 2018-2019 Clear Creek Youth Basketball (K-4th Grade)

    Date: November 2, 2018
    Where: Tiffin Elementary & CCA Middle School

    Registration will take place at the following location and time (only doing one this year): 
    CCA Middle School in Tiffin on Monday, October 29th from 6:00-7:00pm 

    We highly recommend parents printing the forms and mailing them to me at the address listed on the form. The forms MUST be returned by 11/2/2018. That will give the committee ample time to put teams together before practices start in December.

  • Community Food Pantry

    The Clear Creek Amana Community Food Pantry is operated by the Grace United Methodist Church and is located in the building between the middle school and the high school. It has been there for more than seven years and was visited 577 last year. They have given out 15,652 pound of food.  If you are in need of assistance, volunteers are available Mondays 4-6 p.m., Wednesdays 2-4 p.m. and Thursdays 8:30-11:30 a.m.

    The Clear Creek Amana Food Pantry is always in need of canned tuna and chicken, peanut butter, canned fruit, macaroni and cheese and toiletries. There is a box in each of the school offices for you to drop off donations.

    list on the back page; student name and parents names,, name of school attending, teachers name, phone number of both parents, sponsoring VFW Auxiliary Post (use Post 8797) 

    Suggested Guidelines; 
    Teachers may introduce the project to ther class Teachers may not assist the student with speling or grammar. 
    Teachers may encourage discussion of the theme with others including parents of the student or a mentor. 
    Write complete sentences as neatly as possible or it can be typed as well. Check spelling and punctuation.

  • Coloring Contest for National Advanced Driving Simulator

    The National Advanced Driving Simulator is celebrating their 20th Year Anniversary with various activities throughout the year.     The National Advanced Driving Simulator is the nation's largest and first of its kind anywhere in the world. And right here in Iowa! Their main mission is to improve safety by researching the connection between drivers, motor vehicles, and road users. To do this, they work with sponsors from the government, military, and industry to conduct research in their simulators and with their on-road research vehicles.

Students will learn a brand new song and dance combination from a musical each week while cultivating creativity and collaboration. Classes will be held in Cedar Rapids and in Williamsburg. Choose the location that is most convenient for you.
