About the Amana Magnet Program

The Amana Magnet program serves Kindergarten students and is looking to expand to first grade for the 2025-26 school year. All families are Welcome!! Anyone living in the CCA School District and outside of the school district boundaries are welcome.

Magnet Schools are founded on the five pillars:

  1. Diversity
  2. Innovative  curriculum and professional development
  3. Academic Excellence
  4. High Quality Instructional Systems
  5. Family & Community Partnerships

The synergistic relationship of these five equally held tenets is not merely a foundation, but a compass moving our students forward to a well-prepared future.

Magnet Schools attract children of various socio-economic backgrounds, race and academic achievement levels and are accountable to state standards and, in many cases, exceed those standards.

STEAM

Amana will be an elementary STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) themed magnet school with some emphasis on:

  • Project Lead The Way (PLTW) Launch - an innovative and hands-on learning program for our students. PLTW Launch provides students with the opportunity to explore topics in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) through exciting, real-world projects.
  • Engineering Technology -Students will be encouraged to use the practical application of science, technology and engineering to real world problems.
  • Fine Arts – Students will explore the different aspects of the arts including theater, drawing, painting, vocal and instruments.
  • Math and Science will follow the state standards, but additional rigor and hands-on opportunities will be provided to connect real world applications, which include project based activities.

Other Information

Transportation

Transportation will be provided from elementary attendance centers for students within our school district boundaries. Once the majority of all CCA students have registered, and the requests for transportation are reviewed, more transportation communication will be available closer to the start of the school year.

Before and After School Care

Before and after school programs are available in our elementary attendance centers. The before and after school program at Amana Elementary is managed by Champions
