Back to School

All incoming 9th grade students and students who are new to the district are invited to attend Zero Day. This event is designed specifically for students to become familiar with the school, meet staff, become familiar with the student programs and clubs offered at CCA, and prepare for the start of the school year. Parents/guardians do not attend this event.

Bus Pickup Locations and Times 

Bus 1

• Amana Elementary at 8:15 a.m.
• Clear Creek Elementary (Oxford) at 8:35 a.m.

Bus 2

• North Bend Elementary at 8:15 a.m.
• Western Hills Community Center at 8:35 a.m.

Students will be transported to the high school and returned to their pickup location at approximately 11:45 a.m.

Zero Day Schedule

8:45-9:15 AM – Student Arrival

• Students arrive at the middle school.
• Students check in and are grouped by their 1st period teacher. These groups will remain together throughout the morning.
• If weather permits, check-in and staging will take place outside near the agriculture building.

9:15-9:30 AM – Student Welcome

• Administration welcomes students.
• Staff introductions.
• Review expectations for the morning.

9:30-10:00 AM – Student Tours / Parent Presentation

• Students: Clipper Captains lead building tours with support from 7th grade teachers.
• Parents: Administration begins the parent presentation in the cafeteria.

10:10-10:15 AM – Schedules and Locker Assignments

• Students receive their schedules and locker assignments.

10:15-10:30 AM – Parent Questions / Locker Practice

• Parents: Administration remains in the cafeteria for questions and answers.

• Students: Student Council and Clipper Captains assist students in locating lockers and classrooms.

10:30-11:00 AM – Parent & Student Open House

• Parents join their students.
• Teachers remain in their classrooms to welcome families and answer questions.
• Families have time to walk student schedules, locate lockers, and become familiar with the building.
• Students may place school supplies in their lockers if they brought them.
