Preschool Enrollment

Clear Creek Amana preschool provides a rich learning environment that encourages children’s natural curiosity and supports them to take risks that lead to new skill development. The objective of our 4-year-old preschool program is to provide a quality education for children before entering kindergarten. Our preschool program has adopted and meets the Iowa Quality Preschool Program Standards, administered by the Iowa Department of Education.  The Iowa Early Learning Standards are used to guide expectations for the children and instructional practices. The Clear Creek Amana FREE Preschool program is funded through Statewide Voluntary Preschool, with no cost to families. Preschool provides opportunities for children to develop important learning skills. To attend, children must be four years old by September 15 and do not need to live in the district.

We offer a morning or afternoon preschool program complete with assessment protocols, snacks, and large and small motor development. The maximum class size is 20 children in each session. A teaching staff-child ratio of at least 1:10 will be maintained at all times to encourage adult-child interactions and promote activity among children.

Preschool meets Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and is a half-day preschool program. Optional wrap around care is available by Champions for our preschool families.

Transportation

Transportation is free but families must make transportation selections in registration by August 1, 2025 in order to guarantee bus transportation on the first day of school, August 25, 2025. Preschool students have the option for bus transportation to and from designated neighborhood stops, homes and, to the best of our ability, to currently licensed daycares operating within our district. Per state requirements, CCA schools are not permitted to bus outside of our school boundaries. Bus stops and routes will be determined in late summer after the bulk of all student registrations are complete.
