Clipper Early Learning Academy is Moving to Tiffin Elementary

Starting the 2026-2027 school year, the district is planning an exciting next step for early learning by relocating the Clipper Early Childhood Academy into Tiffin ElementaryThis move will provide preschool students and staff with improved classroom spaces, stronger daily support, and increased collaboration with K–1 teachers, helping ensure smooth transitions and consistent learning experiences for our youngest learners. At the same time, this transition allows the current Clipper Early Learning Academy building to be thoughtfully repurposed as a dedicated home for the district’s new 9–12 Virtual Academy—maximizing the use of our facilities while supporting both early childhood education and innovative learning opportunities for older students.

Clear Creek Amana preschool provides a rich learning environment that encourages children’s natural curiosity and supports them to take risks that lead to new skill development. The objective of our 4-year-old preschool program is to provide a quality education for children before entering kindergarten. Our preschool program has adopted and meets the Iowa Quality Preschool Program Standards, administered by the Iowa Department of Education.  The Iowa Early Learning Standards are used to guide expectations for the children and instructional practices. The Clear Creek Amana FREE Preschool program is funded through Statewide Voluntary Preschool funds, with no cost to families. Preschool provides opportunities for children to develop important learning skills.

We offer a morning or afternoon preschool program complete with assessment protocols, snacks, and large and small motor development. The maximum class size is 20 children in each session. A teaching staff-child ratio of at least 1:10 will be maintained at all times to encourage adult-child interactions and promote activity among children.

Through hands-on exploration, purposeful play, and nurturing guidance, we create meaningful opportunities for children to grow socially, emotionally, and academically. Our dedicated team of educators works to foster curiosity, build confidence, and support each child’s unique path of development.
