Clear Creek Amana FFA Shows at Iowa State Fair

The Clear Creek Amana FFA Chapter was involved in the Iowa State Fair in many ways.  Students who showed at the Iowa State Fair exhibited their Supervised Agricultural Experience Projects. Clear Creek Amana FFA members exhibited items such as Floriculture and Livestock. Hannah Gross also had an amazing experience as a Fair Queen contestant.

Results from the Clear Creek Amana FFA Chapter as the state fair are as follows the floriculture team earned 8th overall at state! This team earned 16 overall floriculture ribbons.  Incoming Sophomore Scarlett Brecht’s first experience was a special earring 1st with her Purple and Red Petunias. Scarlett was excited going into the fair she states, “It was a little nerve-racking going into it but I had other Clear Creek Amana FFA members helping me to be successful! I made lots of memories and learned so much!” Many other members had similar experiences Sophomore Courtney Williams was successful in her first showing. Receiving 2nd with her Burgundy Petunias, 2nd and 3rd place with purple gladiolus that were both grown at the Clear Creek Amana High School on the back patio. Having 3 years of floriculture experience Jackson Arnt is always looking forward to this time of the year. “We work all summer and plan to come to the fair to show our best work!” Jackson earned second place showing White Gladiolus and 4th place with his Purple Gladiolus. Shelby Heisler also has 3 years under her belt “Being one of the oldest in the group I enjoy sharing my experiences with new members. Our day at the fair was great and we represented our chapter well!” Shelby along with her peers were successful at the State Fair earning 1st with her Red Roses. A great way for Clear Creek Amana FFA to start off the 2024 Iowa State Fair!

Clear Creek Amana Senior Hannah Gross was the Iowa County Fair Queen! She was a contestant to be the Iowa State Fair Queen, unfortunately, Hannah did not earn that title but still had an impressive experience! I have lots of experience at the State Fair in other aspects from showing and more it was fun to get a new perspective!” Overall a great experience for Hannah Gross. We are very proud to have her representing The Clear Creek Amana chapter!
