Anne Frank Initiative Free Little LIbrary Unveiling with Adam Cole and Keira Rosenberg

In 2023, Clear Creek Amana Middle School students participated in an Anne Frank field trip at the University of Iowa. What began as a learning experience grew into a special collaboration to design and build an Anne Frank Initiative (AFI) Free Little Library.

With design guidance from former CCA Middle School STEM teacher Adam Cole and creative contributions from the Middle School Art Club, the design and paintings were brought to life.

At the unveiling on August 18, 2025, Sophomore Keira Rosenberg spoke on behalf of the Clear Creek Amana students who helped design and build the first AFI Free Little Library. Adam Cole also shared his perspective on leading the collaboration, reflecting on the meaningful experiences his students gained through the project.

The Anne Frank Initiative Free Little Library now stands as a symbol of creativity, collaboration, and the enduring legacy of Anne Frank, offering children and families at Stead Family Children’s Hospital access to books and inspiration.
