We are incredibly proud to share that Clear Creek Amana Middle School is currently the largest participating middle school in the state of Iowa in the Iowa Online AP Academy (IOAPA)!

This year, 27 of our 7th and 8th grade Extended Learning Program (ELP) students successfully completed the qualifying process and are enrolled in advanced online coursework — in some cases working up to three grade levels above their current placement.

These students are doing more than just completing assignments. They are:
✔ Managing high-level coursework
✔ Meeting rigorous deadlines
✔ Communicating with online instructors
✔ Developing advanced time-management skills

If students earn a C or higher, they receive high school elective credit — and we anticipate many of our students will finish with A’s!

We have heard an overwhelming amount of gratitude from families who have shared that this is one of the first times their child has felt truly challenged academically. That kind of growth matters.

This success would not be possible without strong mentorship and support. Our in-person guidance at the middle school level, combined with consistent monitoring and encouragement behind the scenes, has helped students stay on pace and confident when coursework becomes demanding.

Most importantly — these students are absolute rockstars. Their work ethic, resilience, and commitment to excellence make us incredibly proud.

As we begin planning for next year, we look forward to expanding this opportunity so even more students can experience meaningful academic challenge and growth.
