We are thrilled to announce that Clear Creek Amana High School’s spring production of Disney’s Newsies has been honored with multiple recognitions from the Iowa High School Musical Theater Awards (IHSMTA):

Outstanding Musical Production: At the Awards Showcase, CCA ensemble will perform a portion of one of their songs from the musical. IHSMTA Awards Showcase on May 29 at 7:00 PM at the Des Moines Civic Center!

Student Awards – Principal Roles
We are proud to recognize the following students for their Outstanding Performances in Principal Roles:
- Carson Brandt as Jack Kelly
- Mackenzie Burnett as Katherine
- James Cavanary as Joseph Pulitzer
- Sariah Sherman as Crutchie
- Karley Griffin as Medda Larkin
In addition, Carson, Mackenzie, James, and Sariah have been accepted into the prestigious Triple Threat Program, where they will compete for college scholarships or participation in the National High School Musical Theatre Awards (The Jimmy Awards). They will perform in a medley with other nominees at the Awards Showcase.
