The CCA School Board approved the District 3 board vacancy appointment for Nick Pfeiffer at the August 14 Special Board Meeting. Nick will be sworn in before the regular August 21st School Board Meeting.
About Nick Pfeiffer:
I have been a resident of Tiffin since 2005 and have witnessed the tremendous growth of the community. I earned my BA in Public Relations from the University of Northern Iowa. I currently work as Vice President of Public Affairs at Think Iowa City, the convention & visitors bureau of Johnson County. My primary responsibility is to work with local and state elected officials on tourism and placemaking issues. Prior to joining Think Iowa City, I was the Director of Marketing at MidWestOne Bank in Iowa City. At CCA, I finished a two-year term as Treasurer of the Athletic Booster Club in July 2024, participated on the Superintendent's Roundtable, and volunteered for numerous feedback groups. I am a past-president of the Clippers Baseball Club. I have served on the Boards of the Tiffin Community Fund, Iowa City Downtown District, Iowa City Summer of the Arts, Iowa City Run for the Schools, and Iowa City Dollars for Scholars. Professionally, I serve on the Board for the Iowa Travel Industry Partners and its Foundation. I previously served on the Board of Directors for the American Bankers Association School of Bank Marketing and Management. My wife, Hollie, and I have two children attending CCA High School and CCA Middle School, respectively.
Our school district has embraced major growth by making tough, but thorough, decisions. We need to continue that determination, while improving the communication of the decision-making process. My primary goal is for Clear Creek Amana to become the public school of choice for all educators. We will recruit, and retain, the best and brightest as they have the most influence on our children. Despite the growth, CCA should continue to be nimble in the decision making process to stay ahead of the curve as public schools face headwinds in the budgetary process in the state. CCA is in the unique position of having school buildings in five different communities. That often leads to less of a sense of community. We need to make it a strength and find a way to unify our families.
Our future at CCA is bright and we are the envy of hundreds of school districts in the state. Let's keep it that way.
