Clear Creek Amana High School is proud to announce that two outstanding student musicians, Zhiyue Chen (bassoon) and Liahna Malin (clarinet), have earned positions in the 2025 Iowa All-State Band, one of the state’s highest honors for high school performers. Their selection reflects exceptional dedication, musical achievement, and months of preparation.

District auditions for this year’s festival were held Saturday, October 25, at six locations across the state, where hundreds of students competed for limited ensemble spots. Only about 17% of auditioning musicians are accepted into an All-State ensemble, demonstrating the highly competitive nature of this event.

The 2025 Iowa All-State Music Festival will celebrate its 79th anniversary and brings together the state’s top performers in band, orchestra, and choir. The selected students will travel to Ames for rehearsals on Friday and Saturday, November 21–22, culminating in the All-State Festival Concert on Saturday, November 22, at 7:30 p.m. in Hilton Coliseum on the campus of Iowa State University.

The concert will be recorded by Iowa PBS for later statewide broadcast. Broadcast times will be posted at www.iowapbs.org.

Tickets for the live performance are $30.00 (plus applicable fees), with reserved seating available beginning Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. through Ticketmaster.

The Iowa All-State Music Festival is presented by the Iowa High School Music Association (IHSMA) in partnership with the Iowa Music Educators Association (IMEA).
