NORTH PARK ROAD CLOSURE

What will happen if I have to get a student from Tiffin Elementary School (TES) and Oak Hill Elementary (OHE) and I just don’t have time to use the detour?

• Drop off your Oak Hill Elementary (OHE) student off at Tiffin Elementary School (TES): There will be the option for students who need to be dropped off at OHE to be dropped off at TES and ride a bus from TES to OHE. Use the TES CAR LANE to drop your student off, they will then board Bus #9 and ride from Tiffin Elementary to Oak Hill. The student would need to be at Tiffin Elementary by 7:30am to catch the bus.

• Drop off your TES student off at OHE: There will be the option for students who need to be dropped off at TES to be dropped off at OHE and ride a bus from OHE to TES. Use the OHE CAR LANE to drop your student off, they will then board Bus #9 and ride from Oak Hill Elementary to Tiffin Elementary. The student would need to be at Oak Hill Elementary by 7:35am to catch the bus.
• Pick up my TE student at OHE: There will be an option for TES students who have a sibling at OHE to be bussed from TES to OHE in the afternoons so that parents can pick their children up at Oak Hill. Students will board Bus #9 and ride from TES up to OHE, then report to the office to be picked up in the car line at OHE.
• Pick up my OHE student at TES: There will be an option for OHE students who have a sibling at TES to ride from OHE to TE to be picked up at TE at the end of the day. OHE students will board Bus #9 and ride down to TES.   If this is the option you are choosing, then pick up time for your students at TE would be 3:05-3:10pm.  Please use the TES main parking lot (first row of spaces) to park and wait for your student from OHE.

Can students just walk from Tiffin to Oak Hill (or from Oak Hill to Tiffin)? 

• Due to the heavy bus traffic and large construction equipment, students will NOT be permitted to walk between the two buildings. 

Can I just use the bus lane to get my student from TES to OHE? 

• No.  The bus lane is strictly for buses, school vehicles and emergency vehicles.  Please only use the car lane at both TES and OHE.  Violators could be cited.

Will the pick up/drop off times adjust?     

• No, the pick up and drop off times will not be adjusted.  Each school has a 20 minute window for you to drop your student off and pick your student up.  We ask that you plan accordingly. 

The south end of North Park Road should be open for the first day of school on August 25, 2025. Please continue to follow all City of Tiffin detour signs.

1. Roadway north of the roundabout and south of Oak Hill Elementary entrance are still closed for the Fall

2. Access to Tiffin Elementary and Bus Loop from the south ONLY. Use finished roundabout and Frontage Road.
3. Access to Oak Hill Elementary from the north ONLY.
4. Detour Route. No change from the Summer. Use Croell and Oakdale detours.
5. Sign installed on Highway 6 (Marengo Rd) to direct traffic.
6. Sign installed on North Park Road to direct traffic.

Please be advised that the access road connecting Tiffin Elementary and Oak Hill Elementary is intended for BUS USE ONLY and has clear signage indicating its purpose. CCA Schools have reported an increase in residents using this road as a convenience due to the closure of Park Road.

Because this access road is on private property, Johnson County Sheriff's Office has been authorized to issue trespassing citations for any violations of the BUSES ONLY access road. This includes the additional gravel areas, which are also for bus use only.
