CCA Receives Approval for Virtual Learning Waiver

Waiver Approved for Virtual Learning Through November 24

11-10-20

Dear CCA Families,

Earlier today, the CCA CSD received approval from the Iowa Department of Education and Iowa Public Health for CCA CSD to transition to a virtual online learning model through November 24. Our current intentions are to return to our on-site learning model on Monday, November 30 unless county positivity rates, staff exposed/positive numbers and  student numbers warrant otherwise.

Please continue to follow this LINK for information for our virtual online learning model.

  • CCA High School will continue to follow their virtual learning schedule.
  • More information regarding a meal sign-up will be provided in a separate email.
  • With the virtual learning model, there are no extra-curricular activities allowed.
  • The High School Fall Play and Band Concert will look at the possibility of rescheduling.
  • Materials pick-up plans will be communicated by building principals.

Even though our learning instruction will be virtual, it is very important for parents/guardians to communicate when their child(ren) are sick or not in attendance by contacting their child’s building office by 8:30am or earlier. Teachers will be taking attendance every day and it is important to have all students in attendance.

Please know that we are taking this action to protect the health and safety of our students, staff, and families. We hope to be able to return to in-person learning in the near future. This will depend on the status of COVID-19 and the guidance we receive from the Department of Education.

Sincerely,

Tim Kuehl, Superintendent
