New School Start and End Times for 23-24

5-18-22 School Board Passes 2 Tier Bell Schedule for 2023-2024 School Year

Knowing the growth of the district is very challenging under the current transportation model, at the May meeting, the school board reviewed whether to start the 2 tier bell schedule for the 2022-2023 school year or for the 2023-2024 school year. The board voted to change the new schedule effective for the 2023-2024 school year.

The 2 tier bell schedule would align all of the elementary buildings on a 7:50 am school start time and it would not change the secondary bell schedule.

Adjustments to the School Start and End Times

The Clear Creek Amana Community School District recognizes there is a need to change the start and end times for the elementary school day due to the increases in student enrollment, transportation routes, transportation expenses and challenges with bus driver shortages and equipment.

The student enrollment growth is projected to increase for many years therefore it is important the District look at changing our current model of transportation in order to continue to serve all CCA families.  The adjustments are being proposed as a result of the School Improvement Advisory Committee (SIAC) meetings, district transportation input and school board review.

Proposed Elementary Start and End Times:
Amana, Clear Creek, North Bend, Tiffin and Oak Hill:  7:50 am - 2:50 pm (early out Wednesday at 12:50 pm)
Preschool:  7:50 am - 10:50 am and 11:50 am - 2:50 pm (still no preschool on Wednesdays)

No Change to Current Middle and High Schools Start and End times:
Middle School 8:25 am - 3:30 pm (early out 1:30pm)
High School    8:25 am - 3:20 pm (early out 1:20pm)
