• About the Clear Creek Amana Middle School Library

The mission of our CCA District Library Program is to foster inviting, inclusive, innovative, collaborative, and culturally responsive learning environments which empower learners to explore, connect, evaluate, and create.

Clear Creek Amana Middle School is located in Tiffin, Iowa, and serves the entire district, grades 6 - 8. The school enrollment is currently 588 students. In 2009, the middle school moved from its original location in Amana to Tiffin, as part of a district realignment. Tiffin’s Springmier Community Library partners with the middle school and provides a full-time public library director and library assistant to support the full-time, certified teacher librarian. This partnership provides a plethora of benefits to the middle school library,  including a diverse collection that supports, yet sometimes surpasses, the readership of the middle school students. In 2017, the library was moved to a new, updated space in the current building, providing students and staff two semi-enclosed, fixed work spaces and a large library classroom. A technology exploratory class, taught by the teacher librarian, is provided to sixth grade students and focuses on research skill development and digital citizenship. The library participates in various events throughout the school year to promote a love of reading and literacy, as well as a sense of community amongst our students, staff, and larger community. In addition to literacy promotion and instruction, the library serves as the initial point of contact for student computer repairs and technology questions.

    Library Circulation Policy:

    • Students at Clear Creek Amana Middle School may have up to THREE library books checked out at one time.
    • Students with a Springmier Community Library card may have an additional FIVE library books checked out.
    • Books can be checked out for TWO weeks and renewed for an additional seven days if necessary.
    • Students MAY NOT check out anything new (or renew another item) if they have something that is overdue.

These policies are designed to help students return books on time so that they are not lost. The library staff appreciates everyone's efforts in getting materials returned to the library on time.
