Boundary Review Process From July Through December, 2023

Clear Creek Amana Community School District is in the process of reviewing elementary attendance boundaries. In July, the School Board kicked off the boundary process by establishing boundary criteria.  RSP Consultants met with the board and administration for three additional meetings to review updated enrollment numbers, guiding principles, and factors to consider from each district department, building and programs. The proposals are the culmination of months of planning, analysis, and consultation with the District’s expert demographers.

    Why Discuss The Change?

    To address the following:

    • Issues with overcrowding in some schools
    • Planning for the opening of East Ridge Elementary in August of 2024
    • Balancing student populations in our feeders

As one of the largest and fastest growing districts in the state, Clear Creek Amana CSD has taken numerous factors into account in developing the maps. Over the past several months, leadership worked with RSP & Associates to analyze forecasted development in the District, housing values, birth rates, and other projections. Factors considered include building capacity, class sizes, transportation needs, family dynamics, future bond availability, tax savings and more.

The overarching goal is to enhance the quality of education for our students and plan for the future of the District, while minimizing disruptions as much as possible.

    PRIORITIES

Throughout this process, the District is focused on four main priorities:

    1. Fiscal responsibility
    2. Balance elementary schools in terms of class size, anticipated enrollment, and student demographics
    3. Match facility amenities with district programming
    4. Improve academic focus in various grade levels
